Muir Woods

Its hard to get a sense of the size looking up from ground level of the trees.

So maybe this shot will give somne perspective:  That’s Mrs. Big Picture, who is a statuesque 5’8", in the lower right hand corner:

Just think… those magnificent things have been there for eons… they’ve stood there for ages upon ages over everlasting time…

    …even since before 1982.

    Barry,
You and Mrs.Big Picture look so happy
in Cal. on your “get away”. Please put one up
with both of you in it.
    Joan

My favorite spot for redwoods is Big Basin State
Park, just north of Santa Cruz. But if you’re
staying in SF, then Muir Woods is good enough,
although often more crowded with tourists. No
doubt you’re discovering there is just too much
to do, see, and eat in the Bay Area for just one
    short visit.

Let me echo other comments and suggest that if
you are going down to Carmel, you continue driving
down the coast to Big Sur & back. Post a picture
    from that trip!
