Inflation and jaw-boning are a dangerous combination. Inflation *expectations* are crucial. It takes a high degree of media savvy to manage popular perception about inflation expectations through sound-bites and headlines. This most recent effort could easily backfire, and actually greatly increase general inflation expectations. Yikes.
