Back to Work
Congratulations to President-elect Barack Obama on his decisive victory. And to John McCain — a truly great American hero who delivered a gracious and patriotic speech.
Now that this historic election is over, we can return to the markets and the economy. We will closely watch and discuss Obama’s appointments to key economic posts, starting with Treasury Secretary.
And, we still have an economic crisis to deal with, a housing mess to unravel, and a possible second stimulus program coming up. Up next: Non-Farm Payrolls on Friday, and I expect it to be a disaster.
Plus, the continued redesign of the site is going to get tweaked. I’ve heard your issues, and we will address them– perhaps even to solicit your ideas for design changes. The Cafe continues to attract some very high quality contributors also.
Time to get back to work.

It was nothing truly historic. Wall Street sent two candidates with different wrappers. One of them got elected. This has been going on for decades.
I guess you could call the race aspect historic. When I look at him, I see a relatively rich, smart, politically-connected Ivy League graduate with refined speech (again, not historic).
Tony Blaire ran on the same “change” platform. The British were disappointed by him. America will be BAU under Obama.

Hmmm… “refined speech?” that’s one in a row. Smart? ditto…
Anyway, he’s your President now. If you’re a patriotic American, you know what to do.

Methinks it’s time to buy those high-capacity AR mags I’d been looking at, since 44 is not likely to go down as a staunch defender of gun rights..
ps: How does an ACLU lawyer count to 10?
1 3 4 4 4 4 5 6 7 8 9 10

Thank God after eight long years we’ll have someone in the White House who can count to ten.

It’s quite heartening (not) to see some STILL can’t drop (or hold) their cynicism for just one day. “Nothing truly historic?” You’re what’s wrong with this country, I’m afraid.
Sad.

KN,
keep letting those rip, to me, they are, really, humorous~
sadly, what they’ll never admit is, that: without 2 the other 9 are shot.
BR,
speaking about ‘getting back to work’, any intention of covering the COMEX scene, and/or the U$D continuing it’s decent, again, into/through the basement of the USDX, sub-70-estilio?

Yes — both are on the short list

It was a fascinating and memorable election – How can anyone forget the efforts of…uh… what’s-her-name…..oh, you know…….Ms. Maverick…..Ms. Alaska first runner up….dang…..who was that again????
I remember now – Tina Fey.
