A friend of mine owns a (2004, I think) 350Z, and this doesn't look (emphasis on look) like too much of a change. I see they've gone to the L-shaped head- and tail-lights that are all the rage. But the interior looks virtually identical. Of course there's another 5 years of engine development and another 200CCs, so I'm sure it's a bit quicker. It (the 350Z, at least) is a good car, so I guess they didn't need to change much. The 350Z was a little too numb for my liking, though; but I'm still in my 20's so I don't have to worry about all that jarring causing my hemorrhoids to flair up! :) So I like my 2004 MazdaSpeed MX-5 Miata better, personally. Turbo-lag's a b|+(h though, so the Nissan's V6 is nicer in that respect. I haven't driven one of the 370Zs but the 350Z had a bit of a funky power band, like every car that's come out lately that I've driven. I wish all the car manufacturers, across the board, would start scaling back on the peak horsepower to get more oomph down-low. Seriously, as nice as it is to say your have 300 horsepower, I'd take a car with 250 and a flatter power band any day. The gearing in a lot of these cars make the extra power so unusable (screech the tires, bog for 4K or 5K rpm, then finally get power when you hit 40mph). By the time I'm in the power band, I'm already nearing the speed limit and stuck behind another car and the engine sounds like it's going to send a piston through the hood. It's pretty bad when I get a Chevy Cobalt as a rental car and the power band feels like my turbo Miata. It's OK in the super-light weight Miata, because the turbo is a design trade-off to keep the car light; but in some of these other cars it's just ridiculous. Lose a few tenths in the quarter mile and 0-60 times and make the car fun to drive on the road, where it's actually going to be used. Hopefully they fixed this on the new Z... but I'm not holding my breath.

Those Nissan two-seaters, from the 240 onward, have always been serious motoring devices..yes, even the 300 )

Nissan, by itself, has to be of the most underappreciated marques in Autodom..

this: http://www.usatoday.com/money/autos/2006-07-10-ghosn-cover-usat_x.htm deal, that never happened, was, to me, the final bell, needed, to prove that GM wasn't serious about being a world-class Automotive co.--yes, it took a long time..

Ghosn, for as much press as he did receive, is still underappreciated..
