Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson defended the changes made to the $700 billion rescue plan aimed at helping consumers. He told the NewsHour he never expected it to lead to a quick recovery of bank lending.

    That this man is de fact POTUS at this critical point in time is a disgrace. Shame on George Bush, shame on Congress, shame on the Republican Party, shame on all Americans who voted for Bush (double shame on the numbnuts who voted for him twice).
