Knowing that the vote over the weekend in Greece was really a referendum on Euro membership, a majority of the Greek Parliament said yes to staying. European Finance Ministers meet again on Wednesday to solidify the 2nd bailout package for Greece at the same time hopefully a deal is consummated between Greece and its creditors this week. The Greek 14.5b euro bond that matures on March 20th is up by 2 pts. The optimism that all will be completed and contained AGAIN to Greece has yields lower in Portugal, Spain and Italy. Watching this video of expensive housing gives me the thought that with Freddie and Fannie under gov’t control they don’t have to mark to market and can resume the mark to make believe accounting rules. Put that in combonation with some made up loan program for timing purposes and we are on our way.
Of course people won’t live long enough to pay 40 year loans or pay them off by retirement time but they can just refinance later on when the housing value comes back up to what they overpaid for in the first place.
