Nobody is talking about his indictment the same day as Madoff. And Rubin stole more then twice the amount Madoff did.

“When the music is playing you got to dance.”

The choice was having your lunch eaten in ’04 or dance faster and faster while hoping that the music would eventually slow down again rather than stop altogether.

Many people suspected the increased risk taking would end very badly, but who knew for sure that it would or exactly how bad it would be?

Our system has become stuffed to the gills with people of two types: those who immediately and effectively blame others, and the fools who let them get away with it.

There is nothing funnier than Ronald Reagans pulling Harry Truman's 'The Buck Stops Here' sign out of mothballs -- for Truman it was a personal philosophy, for Reagan it was spin for the consumption of rubes. Proving once again that the semantics and syntax are two very different things.

Of course the article is disingenous however, for it is seeking to find blame too, and doing so in order to itself cover up or avoid guilt. The real blame for the crisis lies not with the manipulative con-artists at the top, plentiful though they are, rather it lies with the fools at the bottom who let them get away with it. The same fools that wrote for the Wall St. Journal, and the same fools that read the WSJ and believe it's endless stream of lies and manipulations.

Until the supply of fools dries up, the crisis will continue. It sure is rough when reality comes knockin' on your front door.
