    Volcker?

As the esteemed Wayne Campbell once said: (and I quote)

“Shyeah, and monkeys might fly out of my butt!”.

    Cue dramatic music.

  2. Mike in Nola Says:

Would be great but painful. America is too decadent for painful.

  3. Blackhalo Says:

Only in my wildest dreams would Obama appoint Volker. How would the market react? The crew on CNBC? Surest path to a one term administration, doing the right thing.

This may be the only thing Steve Forbes and I agree on. Yes. Paul Volcker is the best person for the job. All 6′7″ of him is intelligence, knowledge, experience, common sense, foresight, patience, calm and sensibility. Let’s hope he is willing to take on the task.
