I'm in the Northeast and get to join the EU, so the hell with the rest of you. We'll finally get state-run health care, free university education, and a 35 hour work week. Woo hoo!

I believe the former KGB officer got his information from the "Red Badge of Gayness" South Park episode in which Cartman leads a group of Civil War reenactors on a cross-country pillage. My only quibbles with using that as an authoritative source is that (1) it's fiction, and (2) it's animated fiction, which undermines its realism somewhat.

Wow, one sentence summarizes the current situation in Russia:
Unfortunately predictions that would have been taken as lunacy by most Russians in the past are now turned into wishful thinking.

"Our geographic preference of habitation is a function of climate, employment, proximity of mother-in-law — it has to be at least two hours away, by a very fast plane if possible — and pure randomness. We have no allegiance to..."--Vitaliy Katsenelson

an·o·mie or an·o·my (n-m)
n.
1. Social instability caused by erosion of standards and values.
2. Alienation and purposelessness experienced by a person or a class as a result of a lack of standards, values, or ideals

Somehow, as an American, I don't think that "Red Sox Nation" can allow us to carry the Day.

Societal anomie is, hardly, a Cornerstone-- from which to erect any long-standing edifice.

See my comment to an earlier post:

BTW, Putin is making the most of leveraging his role as supplier of energy to Europe, so its role is a bit more than a blip until we get fusion energy, e.g.

Amen, brother.

Moldavian, born under soviet occupation is speaking here.
I watch Russian TV. The disconnection from reality, propaganda, wishful thinking and anti-americanism are abound there. The theory of this Ex-KGB guy would sell like hot cakes there.

They even have widely believed theory that the world is only 1000 years old and the event that happened before 1000 AD are actually a different interpretation of events that happened after 1000 AD. Crazy stuff.
