Well done, Barry, but you'd be disappointed not to be on the top 5 after your amazing year.
I am not worried about you going mainstream, you are way too much of an iconoclast....

I would also nominate Paul Kedrosky and Yves Smith for their pursuit of truth and intellectual depth, and I have very much enjoyed Naked Shorts for his Schadenfreude-laced insights into what goes on behind the hedges in Connecticut suburbia....

I like Berman's writing and have enjoyed reading his articles when I have come across them. He likes using screeners in his columns to look at various plays and usually comes up with some pretty solid value screens. I haven't read him since the turmoil. I'd be interested in his take on it

This is completely off topic. There is a very good article in today's WSJ about a woman who bought a house for 3800 and subsequently was able to get a mortgage for 103,000. the article traces the events right through the AAA rating given to the MBS it became part of. Funny the article never mentioned the CRA. I guess the article would have to have been on the editorial page for that.

I have some flame throwers coming out next week; I try not to waste really incendiary posts during vacation weeks.

Also, you may have noticed that from October until the manuscript for the book went into the publisher late December, my output dropped considerably.

That reverts backs to the usual depth and amount of content again on January 5th . . .

Yea, I can tell that your starting to go mainstream...congrats, but your starting to lose your mojo - articles are having more of a "pop," feel. IMHO
