Bloomberg Surveillance: 9-10AM
>
This morning, I will be chit chatting from 9:10 am to 10:00 am on the Bloomberg radio program “Bloomberg Surveillance,” with hosts Tom Keene and Ken Prewitt.
You can catch it live, or via podcast at either Bloomberg or at iTunes.
I really enjoyed myself last time I did the show – I would expect today’s show to be more of the same . . .

lets hope this interview is better than the one I’m watching now on CNBC with Bufett, these questions are pathetic.

Congratulations, Barry. Bloomberg’s Surveillance is quite possibly the best program on news radio, bar none. Tom Keene and Ken Prewitt are wonderful interviewers, eliciting responses with wit and intelligence. Hope you have a great meeting.

“New York Fed Chairman’s Ties to Goldman Raise Questions” WSJ
“Because he was wasn’t allowed to own the stock he had, the Fed doesn’t consider his additional December purchase to be at odds with its rules at the time. The Fed had no policy requiring directors to inform it of new stock purchases, and Mr. Friedman didn’t. The Federal Reserve Board is now in the process of rewriting its rules for handling situations like Mr. Friedman’s.”
Because he was wasn’t….Is it just me, or is this a Freudian typo????

Nice chat. I’m with ya on the “bear market bounce”. Looking for a downturn this Summer equal or greater to the recent 30% upswing.
You also called it on “throwing good money after bad” and put in a valid question mark on what the auto bankruptcies may do to the financial sector.
I think you soft-pedaled the implications of a continued worsening of economic data, whether or not it accellerates or decelerates on the way down. If 1.5 trillion dollars (which ain’t paid for yet btw) can’t do it – and we’re talking the US alone here – then what will? I think we’re in a much stickier wicket than many/most want to admit.
But hey, I’m a majority of one :)

Tom Keene is my favorite interviewer. In my opinion, one of the few truly objective “pundits”. He does an excellent job of just interviewing his guests without interjecting with his own opinion. A very intelligent man.
The parts of the show I caught this morning were great, though I prefer “Bloomberg on the Economy with Tom Keene” during the evening. Barry, could you get yourself an invite to that one sometime?
Cheers!

Bloomberg radio interviews with Tom Keene are the best thing out there. I agree with aroberso…get yourself on the longer interview format.
