New Website: BailoutNation.Net
For those of you who are getting sick of hearing about the book, rejoice: The new site is launching tonight. All of the book related stuff will eventually find its way there. (Some will end up here in Books).
This is just the home page — it should populate over the next few days . . .
After this PR onslaught of the next few weeks passes, things may finally revert back to normal.

Hey, just for the record I am not tired of hearing about the book at all.
One thing I am dying to hear about, is how marketing the book is going. What is it like? Anything interesting happening while you are on the road?
I have just got to believe you have some good stories to tell, if you have the time.

Oy! I gotta visit another site?

Sick of hearing about the book?
Perish the thought.

I just want to know when you are going to appear on the Daily Show and/or The Colbert Report
my copy is in transit via Amazon as of today. can’t wait to get my hands on it next week and start reading (after the CFA)

Yup, tired of hearing you marketing your book. You are doing well, no need for me to know more than that. Instead been getting my more of my daily dose of financial porn from other blogs. By now, most of your blog readers have either ordered it or just won’t, doubt you’ll convince anyone else on this blog.
Like everybody else, I enjoy one of your good stories (encounters with Nobel laureates etc) from time to time.

We are indeed a bail out nation. We have become so helplessly addicted to government “rescues” that we do not know any longer what it is to stand on our own feet.
Sadly, the government is not conscious of feeling and in the end we are going to suffer, suffer and then suffer some more.

I have a question for the audience here. Does BR make out if we get the local library(s) to carry the book? Anyone know the deal with that? I figure more the merrier(as long as it helps out BR).

@Calvin:
Barry gets 1% of all overdue fees in perpetuity.
Just kidding. You don’t get anything from libraries.

Try not to go all Jeff Macke-crazy when you are out promoting the book :)

Good news! If you buy ten from Amazon.com, they’ll give you one free!*
*Well, I actually called to report my copy had never arrived, and they’re sending a replacement, free of charge. Now I’ve just got to be around Tuesday when it arrives to make sure it doesn’t “walk off” again.
P.S. I see there’s a review on Amazon.com for the book already. What, little faith in the “Mongol hordes” to say something complimentary???
P.P.S. How long until 50cent or m&m use some BN for lyrics in a rap song? Jon Thain’s mobile commode is just begging to appear in a music video…

When is the paperback coming out?

BR: About a year

Thank Christ for that, I’m sick of the book already and I haven’t even read it.

BR: You caught the disease. The only known cure is reading the damn thing.

“I just want to know when you are going to appear on the Daily Show and/or The Colbert Report”
Reading the book, now. I agree with asiankida, in that I would really enjoy seeing you on the Daily Show pimping your book. Or Mahr, who was on a roll this weekend.

Hi Barry:
Saw your book at Barnes and Noble in Burlington, MA 01803. When I asked where I can find it (after searching for it under the market and finance sections), they directed me to the economy section. Perhaps they can also put a few copies in the market/finance section. When I asked them why it was not on the table of new books as you enter the store (many other new books on finance/market appear there) they were not sure?!
Perhaps you can have a talk with them to move your book front and center at the main entrance with the other new books, or at least have it visible under the other market books!
~~~
BR: Those front table spaces are coop — meaning the publisher pays the book store rent for the space (same for prime Supermarket shelf space). The official publication date is May 26, and the West Coast is just having them arrive the past few days. We should see them more prominently displayed at all Borders and B&N come next week . . .
Barry:
Read your book today. EXCELLENT!!!
It had a featured position at the Mt. Laurel NJ Barnes & Noble in the Economics section.
What I learned from the book:
1) The origin of the PPT (http://ppt.ibankcoin.com/)
2) Why they (need to) sell so much Viagara on Wall St.
3) You are a damned good writer. I read the “1907″ book and several others you referred to. What amazed me was how much detail you matter-of-factly tossed out that was a real eye-opener. Like the real reason for the Boskin Commission’s findings.
Much success and lucre.
When does the book tour start?
Same thing for the talk shows? Was your promotional budget impacted by the change in publisher?
It would seem to me that the MSM is on board with the green shoots meme, and that their sponsors and owners might not be too fond of a book that might draw public attention to the crisis and their part in it.
