Australian Broadcasting Corporation:

Deliberately offensive, determinedly provocative and extremely funny, PJ O’Rourke is the conservative journalist and satirist that makes even lefties laugh. In Australia recently as a guest of the Centre for Independent Studies, he used this talk at the National Press club to deliver a scattergun critique of conservatism. During the Q&A session he answers questions about gun control, the GFC and his personal drug use.

I find him amusing, but look beyond the humor and you see his content reveals that he is a clueless jackass . . .

ha, I thought the same thing – I’ve heard him a lot on NPR’s Wait, Wait Don’t Tell Me, where he basically plays the token Conservative, and he always does fine on that show and makes some decent jokes, and I’ve never thought anything of it.

But then he was a guest on Real Time with Bill Maher last week, and I was really surprised at what a Rush-sounding ditto-head he was! I thought he was supposed to be smart enough to rise above the knuckle-dragging AM talk-show BS, but all he did was repeat falsehoods and right-wing talking points, uncritically and without any original thoughts of his own. I was really surprised, and disappointed…..

He was on Real Time with Bill Maher a couple weeks ago and was utterly embarrassing.
