Wiley is running a promotion for all new buyers of Bailout Nation: Buy a copy of the book, and send an email of the receipt to Bailout Nation at Yahoo dot com (adjust email before sending), and you get entered into a contest to win GM stock certs.

I have seen them, and they are pretty damned cool — they look just like the certs below:

    Thanks but I’ll take the bubblegum option instead. More useful.

    Kind of reminds me of the Lucent stock floating around a few years ago. One minute locked in a vault. The next, blowing around the neighborhood when garbage cans fell over.

    It made terrible wallpaper, but wasn’t so bad for ….. If you didn’t mind “a little rough”.

    Barry – I sent in just my amazon email which looks easily forged. Is there a way to send this in without giving all your personal info?

    ~~~
    BR: When you forward an email from Amazon, you should be able to edit out the credit card info
    You do need the home address to recieve the cert, tho!
    “all new buyers” — how new? Got a URL for a Wiley site describing this promo?
    BailoutNation-at-etc
    Bailout_Nation-at-etc
    Bailout-Nation-at-etc
    or
    Bailout.Nation-at-etc
    ?
    Shouldn’t they be issued as Government Motors?
    It is sad to see what is happening at GM.
    Brilliant.
    Once the promotion has run its course – if there’s any left – the entity holding all these GM, Chrysler et al old-school share certificates should coordinate something with the Charmin people.
    They’d make a lovely bookmark.
    I have an Enron certificate but GM looks cooler and has more history.
