Jack, apparently not only the Charlotte-based bank, but also Mr Lewis' pants were on fire.

According to CR, Corus and Guaranty are done for. No wonder Sheila wanted to keep CIT from raiding the FDIC's piggy bank. A few more big regionals and we're talking real money, which brings us back to Everett Dirksen.

Not only is a banker's word no longer his bond, a lot of his bonds are no longer worth a $.

Jack,

That was a nice call on the set up for Q2 earnings, worked well if followed.

As for Ken Lewis, of all the bank CEO's that got the boot I'm still scratching my head on how he kept his job.

I expect that the inflation tax that is the likely eventual outcome of the money printing by the fed to save those BB's, (Big Banks but insert your favored epithet), will make its way to my end of the world. So I'm outraged too.
