While yesterday's US stock market close was poor, Asia and Europe didn't follow today as debt in Greece, Spain, Portugal, etc... rallied, their CDS narrowed and stocks bounced. The Greek finance minister said January tax revenues came in above expectations and that spending was below target for the month and said "that means the deficit reduction for January is well within what we have promised." The euro is rising in turn. Also helping is the story that Trichet is headed to the European Union leaders summit a day early in order to address Greece's problems even as the Greek finance...

One has to always take Mossberg with a grain of salt when it comes to Apple. I have head that he is the most well known midget fanboy
The reviews I’ve seen indicate that there are definite improvements but not the breathrough features of the first and second generations, i.e. evolutionary rather than revolutionary improvements.
On the minus side, I have seen reports from those who own the new models that there is some problem with signal strength. One description was that the new models were put next to the old models in someone’s house. The 3G showed 2 bars; the new models showed none. I suppose this will get fixed in time by an update, but some already have had trouble with calls dropping on the old model.
This is not to say they won’t sell a boatload of them.

Not meaning to diss the new iPhones, but they are somewhat limited by the ATT network. Much of it is not fast enough to take advantage of the new speed.
One podcast recently was a bunch of guys with various phones. The one with the iPhone complained that he is in Chicago and ATT’s network gets slow crowded at times during the workday, e.g. lunchtime, that it is impossible to get email or surf the web. Don’t know if this is a widespread problem. If VZW carried them, I might try one.
