Stiglitz: Temporary Bank Nationalization Necessary

At a recent community forum on the economy, Professor Joseph Stiglitz argued in favor of temporary bank nationalization, calling it “not that big of a deal” and essential to changing incentive structures. “When the economy recovers, you privatize again,” he said.

    We should bookmark this for when the know-nothings shift from today’s “what, me worry?” mode back into the mode of “why didn’t those useless economists warn us and why can’t they explain what caused” the slow growth recovery that Dr. Stiglitz predicts.
