Blurb: “If you can find a better book . . .”
Yesterday, I am at NPR, waiting to tape a segment on foreclosures. There is a pile of books and magazines a coffee table. I spy the title Satisfaction by Chris Denove and J.D. Power IV.
As someone who has been blurbed and who gives blurbs, the above the title blurb by Lee Iacocca catches my eye:
“If you can find a better book on customer satisfaction, buy it.”
That Lee is a freakin‘ genius . . .

Its genius — the most non committal blurb ever!

tangentially,
Customer ‘Satisfaction’ sounds like a ‘good thing’, but it’s, hardly, the first priority.
for a better take, than the one proffered by J.D.’s brand-extension, see http://www.amazon.com/Loyalty-Effect-Hidden-Profits-Lasting/dp/1578516870/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1256223284&sr=1-1 one will find ‘Success’, like Life done well, requires a way more holistic approach.

I think ‘creative’ calls it ‘re-purposing’, w/that, yes, it’s freakin’ genius..

I find it amazing that no one seems to remember that all those cars Lee was pitching in those adds were crap. They had to do the 5year 50000mile so people would buy them and they could get the money. Worry about repair cost later.
They didn’t make anything good until the minivan.
He saved a company by appealing to nationalism and getting people to buy crappy cars.
