Banks are buying Treasuries in order to repair their balance sheets and they are also trading shares of banks and REITs in order to be able to sell them later at a profit and pay themselves a massive bonus. All this as US small businesses fail and unemployment continues to rise, even as commercial real estate firms are insulated from their bad business decisions by the lords of crony capitalism.
