What Recession?

Warren Buffett’s investment instincts have held true throughout the credit crisis. Kelsey Hubbard and WSJ’s Scott Patterson discuss Buffett’s big bets –and the deals he declined.

Does anyone suspect that Buffett was not merely a clever investor here, but more of a de facto member of the bailout team, with a considerable amount of reassurance, tacit or explicit, from Geithner and Paulsen, that his investments would not go south? It’s hard to see what else would have provided the legendary Buffet “moat.” I’d suggest that this type of moat is more about cronyism than brilliant investing.

Maynard, to answer your question yes. On one hand Buffet appears to be managed like “an asset” of the de facto bailout schutzstaffel squadron. On course to selling their next mission critical program through GE’s media outlet: Operation “Jobless” Recovery…

On the other hand, Goldman Sachs, Inc keeps peddling Warren Buffet out in front and when they get people focused on his trading acumen or success from small beginnings, they do a dirty deed, like stick a dagger into a competitor firm, make a change in material accounting methods, or violate the laws of the United States, by changing their corporate structure.

You know, Goldman Sachs, Inc, *shakes head* everything they touch they contaminate. Now they are trying to draw down on their relationship with Warren Buffet to give them credibility or notoriety. Its like the person (Goldman Sachs, Inc) who marries a beautiful woman (Warren Buffet) so they can have a trophy wife.

The only thing they are doing is ruining Buffet’s reputation. Mr. Buffet, has said good things about the company, about making HIM money, but about their bad deeds and abusing trust in American, he is silent. (Like a good trophy wife.)
