Wow. I find that shameful that there are some places in the world where poverty rates are actually worse than they were in 1997. Otherwise, in most cases, things have improved

I don’t understand the technology bar graphs, something is missing there, like name of regions.
Poverty rates: look at ” west asia ”, from 10% under $1.25 a day in 2007 to 25% in 2008 ! Something very wrong going on there, west asia is probably the middle-east with AfghanHell and some ex-soviet republics.
The most claustrophobic guy on earth has 2 choices: move to Greenland or Pitcairn.
Where’s Canada with the greenhouse gas emissions, exploitation of oil sands and the conservative government attitude completely changed Canada’s reputation.

For more details about internet I checked International Telecommunications Union’s site,
the nordic european countries have the strongest % of internet users (#1 Iceland 90.6%)
http://www.itu.int/ITU-D/icteye/Reports.aspx
and also the strongest % of broadband subscribers (#1 Sweden 37.%)
http://www.itu.int/ITU-D/ict/statistics/at_glance/top20_broad_2008.html
Near zero% of internet users are many countries from Africa and a few in Asia like Myanmar, Irak and Afghanistan.
Unbelievable is the total estimate of internet users for the world: 1 587 420 000 !!! 23.4% of the world population, amazing achievement considering internet didn’t exist 20 years ago.
