Thanks for the synergy reco, RP...i currently use input director, which works ok for operating off a single box, but doesn't allow for cutting/copying/pasting across. Will definitely check it out!

Well the comments by Darkness led me to really blow the photo up, and he is right about the second keyboard and speaker. Also, there is a phone on the right side. Together these indicate the surround desk is real. Further, the mouse is corded - should have known from the red light that is characteristic of an MS USB corded optical mouse - I mistakenly took it for a cordless version.

I work with photoshop quite a bit. Based on the way the shadows under look the right hand feet of the monitor "shelves", as well as the way the general light from the window changes on the face panels of the monitors (from falling in shadow on the right to lit on the left, I'd say it's real. No duplication in the screens either. (There is another keyboard off to the left, along with a speaker.)

@ peachin

I apologize if my comments offended you. It comes from my own experience. Cordless peripherals (mouse, keyboard) are subject to failures (battery, comm link) that the coreded versions do not suffer. It happened to me once (a mouse) and it cost me. That was the last time I used a cordless peripheral on my trading platform. There is enough risk in active trading when everything is working properly. I believe it is foolish to take on any additional risk that can be simply avoided. In non- critical applications I love 'em and use 'em.

A somewhat related tale from another trader who is a client of of my prime hardware guy - lost $20k on a futures trade when Windows Update was set to automatic updates, took over and rebooted his machine after an automatic update seconds after he put on a sizable position.

" only a fool would use a cordless mouse for real money trading" Mr. E

I have been trading with a cordless mouse ( maybe 15 years) - as the pad is useless - personally love the pointer that IBM now Lenovo has. As for a fool - Mr. E. If that is a statement from your knowledge - you must be doing something wrong. Read the book (paraphrased) How do you know, that what you know, isn't so....

On average, the only people benefiting from turning trading into a video game are the people who collect trading commissions.

It looks like you'd need about an SPF 50 to sit in front of that thing. As a matter of fact, in order to generate revenue to pay for it, it doubles as a tanning station after trading hours

For a day trader that setup is overkill. By the time the trader looks at all of the screens he or she is chasing the trade. And that many screens for a position trader probably means the trader thinks he or she can assimilate all of that information and we know what happens to traders who think they are masters of the market. IMHO KISS
