Watch what they do, not what they say

Proving that how one feels don’t necessarily translate to how they act, the first look at March U of M confidence fell to 72.5 from 73.6 and matches a 4 month low and is 1.5 pts below expectations. Both Current Conditions and the Outlook fell. One year inflation expectations rose .1% to 2.8%, matching the highest since Oct ’09, likely due to the slow creep higher in gasoline prices which last night hit a fresh 17 month high. The key to confidence is the labor market and notwithstanding the improvement in retail sales, the labor market picture is still uncertain. IF, however, the economy is currently turning a corner in a sustainable way rather than seeing some reversion to the mean after the late ’08-early ’09 earthquake, employment will pick up and confidence will follow.

I always prefer to paint with both sides of the brush.

Don’t forget the impact of politics. It looks like the Democrats have actually decided that the best way to survive in November is to actually legislate on the people’s behalf, with or without the Republican Party. This will fuel confidence.

And what were the Democrats doing all last year? Where are those jobs the stimulus promised. We will remain below 8% if we pass this stimulus package. Did you forget Obama’s words so quickly? From most polls the people don’t want any parts of what the Democrats are trying to force upon them.
But don’t worry, after they pass the bill, people will get a chance to read it. Problem is, folks know whats in it, and they don’t like any part of it. Or that Cap and Trade jobs killer or the Amnesty thats going to be pushed in the coming weeks.

Just what we need, millions of Illegals getting granted amnesty so they can continue taking jobs away from americans. Do you think Illegals will be paying for their healthcare if its passed? They won’t, but you will pay for them to be covered.
