Let’s take America back!! And give it to… hmmm…

Let me think about that. The Democratic wusses? No, that can’t be good. The Republican bullies and crazies? Hell no. The Liberatarians?? Unlikely.

    I feel like a dog chasing a car…..

Poor spelling on my part. Sorry Libertarians. The image in the link still applies, though, even if I can’t spell.

    Dear Barry:

Those who continue to make a point about ideological predisposition are generally the same folks who are most ideological, and there is nothing wrong with this. It is humanly impossible not to have a world view. And to retort by claiming one is solely a “number’s man” is foolish. Why? Because facts without reason and a properly ordered will do not lead to truth – even in the world of finance. And if you don’t believe this look at the difference between Krugman and a right of center economist. The truth can’t be in both camps. Good day.

BR: i don’t like the Democrats and i don’t like the Republicans. I call it as I see it, and I find its only the Partisans who get upset when I point out their failures.

And if you cannot see the brilliant satire in what Colbert does, I feel sorry for you. Your partisanship is causing you to miss out . . .

    Dear Barry:

It doesn’t matter whether you hate Ds and Rs. That’s beside the point. If you were the King of the USA, you would implement a society that would resemble more a D or an R view. I prefer to describe it as a view of the Transcendent versus a view of the Humanist, but I dare not go into more detail about this point. Barry – you’re smart, and you have a world view like all the other human beings. It is nothing to be ashamed of. And I don’t watch much TV; thus, I haven’t had a chance to develop a close relationship with Messrs. Stewart and/or Colbert. Good day my left of center friend.

BR: Ahhh, but that is my exact point — The Left/Right dynamic is last century.

Its now a human vs corporate debate, and the Humans are losing.

Those of you stuck in the old Left/Right debate miss the entire picture. A right winger bailed out all of the big banks, and his left winger successor poured more money into the firepit.

If you see the world in terms of Left & Right, you really aren;’t seeing the world at all . . .

BR- Your comments above are so dead on. R & D are moot antiquities. Neither truly has “the country” in their best interest, only re-election and padding their pockets with corporate dollars. No one out in the political sphere is talking about anything close to reality. D’s want to tax & spend, R’s want to not tax and spend, and everyone is afraid to touch entitlements because old people vote. Yet, every dollar of our taxes brought in only covered Social Security and Medicare/Medicaid…. We are hearing daily debate about how important continuing tax-cuts that shouldn’t have been given anyhow as though they are life or death. The difference is equivalent to a zit on your face… Nothing real is spoken of, and very little can be done about it…

BR is right when he says the true battle is citizens versus corporation. Are we a country where 1person=1 vote, or are we a country where $1=1 vote? Right now, the dollars are winning and the people are pleased to play in the mud of hate and anger.

Todd Harrison has been writing for years that our country should worry more about the growth of social acrimony and the chasm between the haves and have nots. Bad things happen historically when this rift becomes too wide. Bad things that make market downturns look like child’s play.
