Catherine Mann, a formal Federal Reserve economist who’s now a professor at Brandeis University, talks about Federal Reserve policy and its labor and inflation targets. Fed policy makers, in their January minutes, took a more optimistic view of the U.S. economy last month while maintaining their dissatisfaction with job growth as they pressed forward with an expansion of record monetary stimulus.
