Back on the Kudlow Report at 7:00 pm this evening with (Super) Mario Gabelli.  We will be discussing the Market sell off and bounce, Japan, and energy policy.

My takeaway:

• My Market view is here

• Today looks like little more than a technical oversold bounce.

• However, we have been very headline driven — very good  news (or very bad news) from Japan could have a big effect on markets.

• Possible downside targets for the S&P500 are 1228 (-9%), then 1179 (14%), 1127 (19%).

We added a few names and are now 30/70 Long/Cash

    Hi BR, what do you think of the decision of letting banks to be allowed to issue dividends? Is it already priced in? Would it be one of the “news” that may resume the bull run?

    I noticed you are not convinced that the banks are healthy enough, but with the cooked books and the help of the FED and the Treasury, I don’t see any reason that they can’t get their ways.

    The banksters and all the Bank CEOs are waiting for their big payout from the dividends.

    Love to read your blog, thanks for sharing your opinions.

    BR,

    Watching the Kudlow Report, I could really feel the bias against muslims. I am quite used to this…pretty disgusting.

    One note, there is no conflict between Shi’a & Sunni today. There was a conflict in 632-AD. But, this is a thing in the past and there has not been any conflict for hundreds of years. HOWEVER, there is one country, a small country, that we American tax payers pour millions of dollars EVERYDAY to this country – an ultimate bailout nation that can absolutely not sustain on its own without our $$ aid, and this country can greatly benefit, based on its geographical location, from a Shi’a vs Sunni conflict. Since they completely control the media in America, they have been quite successful to control the public opinion and make Americans to believe that the mess in middle-east is due to Shi’a vs Sunni …or … ya something like that …(as Kudlow said). Very typical.

    Last note, I was born in Iran and I became Naturalized just few years ago. I am also working as a Microwave Antenna Engineer for a space (not air – only space) related company in CA. I am also an Iran-Iraq war veteran. I served in Islamic Republic of Iranian Air Force back in 80’s (not as a pilot). And here is the thing; when I immigrated as a student back in 1986, I was quite surprised when people related Iran-Iraq war to Shi’a vs Sunni conflict. That war had nothing to do with Shi’a vs Sunni. Hay, I was there and I know what I am talking about.

    Random notes;

    Who benefited the most when Saddam Hussein attacked Iran and later Kuwait? (Hint: it was not Saddam Hussein nor it was Ayatollah Khomeini of Iran)

    If you think President Ahmadinejad of Iran is anti Jew, then you don’t absolutely know anything about him. (BTW, he is not my favorite president)

    NatGas – I hate the fracking ramifications I’m hearing
    … maybe we could drill a hole into the earth and stretch a pipe into space – a natural vacume and suck the NatGas outta the earth – then send a space ship back down with the gas – kinda like in Spaceballs :-)
