John Stewart – smartest guy on TV by far.

Both teams had ample time to do their pre-game preparation prior to the interview, and either Stewart’s staff or Stewart himself countered O’Reilly’s examples well.
O’Reilly had a lame retort, but he comes across as both condescending and smug to me.
Stewart should drop the rap gig though.

The “blue collar” vein that O’Reilly taps (and my roots are more “blue” than his) is real. Unions have been neutered, mortgage companies crawled across the table to facilitate the sale rather than advise the buyer, for years companies talked loyalty but act as if loyalty was one-way, K thru 12 is questionable (apparently we need charter schools to make them work), college increasingly unaffordable, health care premiums eat away at take-home pay, and even state gov’t is a long way from the voter. Stewart knows all of this but denies O’Reilly’s simplistic connections.

I think they could start a cable company together.
They are the best bi partisan show in the country.
