Similar to the Big Bank chart [1] we ran on Monday, this graphic shows a series of mergers in the rail shipping industry over the past 50 years has led to the creation of four freight rail giants that now control 90% of all business.

There are now only four that matter: CSX, Norfolk Southern, Union Pacific and Burlington Northern Santa Fe now take in more than 90% of the market.
