  1. Mike in Nola says:

I used to think the bankers supplied Bove with hookers or dope. Changed my mind after watching this. I think he just wants to have Jamie’s baby.

  2. emaij says:

What is your secret for keeping your cool opposite the Dick Boves of the world?

  3. laBear says:

Awesome response at the end to Bove’s nonsense about previous failures….surprised he had such a factually and philosophically weak argument and observations

  4. Francois says:

WOW! This Bove is quite the Apostle of the General Asswipery!

Is he competing with Jonathan Macey for Banking Shill of the Decade or what??

  5. kurtwestphal says:

I agree with Barry and you commenters,

Bove expresses the fact that we have a trillion dollar derivatives market spinning with preciously little transparency or capital requirements, he wants to keep it that way… well because ‘it’s profitable for us’…. partition the banks and take away the FED and tax payer backstop…, clean up their books, indict and prosecute the criminological elements and insist on some kind of clearinghouse for tracking systemic risks,

then if IBs want to gamble and fail, so be it… Bove’s arguments ‘aren’t'…. it’s PR claptrap.

  6. V says:

Why doesn’t Bove just bugger off to the social security office … ?

  7. emaij says:

We are really fortunate to have a Barry Ritholtz or a Bill Black periodically brought in to inject some integrity into the discourse. Most of the time it’s just a Dick Bove and a couple of other compromised apologists skirting the real issues… or completely distorting the truth.

  8. AHodge says:

Bove to me belongs to an amazing class of people–maybe only 2 or three others
who are not just randomly wrong or biased wrong
i believe he is statistically reliably, verifiably wrong- it might be bias but actually worse?
and suitable for betting the other way on whatever he says?

  9. ConscienceofaConservative says:

Is Bove an analyst, PR agent for the banking industry, or a paid lobbyist. I don’t get him at all
