    Every single year there is some played-up weather “event” that bumps corn prices up and every fall there is a good to great to record harvest.

    So you think the expected yields won’t get worse from here?

    Well…. you might be in for a surprise. Talk to actual farmers and crop scouts instead of USDA bureaucrats and you’ll get some increasingly dire news.

    There’s going to be a bunch of guys who made private contracts on a sub-50% portion of their expected yields who will have to find a way to deliver physical on their contracts instead of settling for cash. That’s going to hurt and hurt bad.
