When I was courting my wife, we used to stay in St. Martin on vacations, and the only English TV was CNN and the Christian Broadcasting Network. We would come home from a night of French haute cuisine, gambling and drinking on the Dutch side, and CBN would run Groucho re-runs from 1:00 AM to 2:00AM each night. Interspersed between the “regular” guests were up and coming stars and starlets- including a very young Phyllis Diller, among others. That, Grouchos wit, and the DeSoto Fireflite commercials were always a good way to top off the night.
