The 2013 McLaren 12C Spider ($265,750 plus $2,500 destination charge) is the least-compromised convertible sports car built:

With more power and torque for 2013 — 616 hp and 443 lb-ft — the 12C is even more fun to pedal-drop between corners, and devastating in a launch-control hole shot.Pull from the 3.8-liter twin-turbo V8 is still concentrated at the middle of the rev range, but it’s all very usable and never manic. It’s a charming and flexible engine that’s got as much character as many naturally-aspirated V8s of its kind.

Barry, do u really like cars that much? Then how about some cars with real “character,” like the 1998 gold Plymouth Grand Voyager I took to Burning Man five times. Ugly as hell but you could lay out a 8×4 sheet of plywood in the back, flat on the floor. So roomy I could stretch out on a twin inflatable mattress in the back, which was amazing after a week of, well, of you know what on the playa.

Check out what these guys crossed Siberia in…
