Moyers & Company Show 141:Plutocracy Rising from on Vimeo.

The One Percent is not only increasing their share of wealth — they’re using it to spread millions among political candidates who serve their interests. Example: Goldman Sachs, which gave more money than any other major American corporation to Barack Obama in 2008, is switching alliances this year; their employees have given $900,000 both to Mitt Romney’s campaign and to the pro-Romney super PAC Restore Our Future. Why? Because, says the Wall Street Journal, the Goldman Sachs gang felt betrayed by President Obama’s modest attempts at financial reform.

To discuss how the super-rich have willfully confused their self-interest with America’s interest, Bill is joined by Rolling Stone magazine’s Matt Taibbi, who regularly shines his spotlight on scandals involving big business and government, and journalist Chrystia Freeland, author of the new book Plutocrats: The Rise of the New Global Super-Rich and the Fall of Everyone Else.

  1. There are no easy solutions. The problems to some extent are in our biology.

Issues in Scaling Civilization: The Altruism Dilemma

However handling this dilemma is a necessity.

Representative systems of government are an attempt to address this. But the current forms are not sufficiently able to…. well… ‘represent’ adequately.

The big banks spent $320 million lobbying on Dodd-Frank over two years. That’s about 50 cents per voter per year.

The speech-related microtransaction is a fundamental h. In a scaled society its an essential need. I believe this will eventually be realized.

Solutions? There are Zero, zilch, nada solutions, so forget easy solutions. Watch the Moyers video and you will see. I watched it twice on TV because it validates everything I have been studying on the subject since the crash. I couldn’t believe they managed to simplify it so and cram it into one hour show but Matt Taibbi , he gets it. America will never be the same since the bailouts. The best capitalists won , they changed the rules to do it but they did it and proved outrageous greed wins out over anything. You can only hope that some biblical passage will kick in now or they decide to give back all the money they “legally” stole while crashing the global economy but its OK . Remember? They are TBTF …way above mortals, and laws and are free to do it all again and there IS nothing that can be done about it . VOTE? dont make me laugh.
We need to teach the truth in school about how government is a subordinate workforce to the oligarchy . Those are the only solutions I can think of beyond civil war. Then the people that inherit the mess will at least have opened their eyes to the situation when the prices in the Mall rise.
Here’s a video I have been emailing for years to state what I thought was going on and this Bill Moyers video validates that its true as Ive always said. Its actuall the Cliff Notes for that video.

I should have added that it is NOT an Obama promo so don’t let that scare you from watching it. He gets beaten up pretty good about 3/4 of the way through for being one of the plutocrats.
