    There was a huge surge in the pot stocks post-election,
    many are penny shares. Might be some of it. One of them
    jumped 3000% in 2 days or something.

    One could make the argument that at this point the pink sheets are a more credible market than the majors.

    FNMA, FRE, and the mortgage insurers are mostly pennies. Post election intervention-policy uncertainty resolution? Last election the Republicans had been pretty adamant the industry should be wolf food.
