    IMHO, the *best* investment for tax return funds is paying down any revolving credit, HELOC’s, student loan balances, etc. I routinely hear of people carrying large debt loads while trying to make up the difference in their brokerage account.

    Return? I claim minimum exemptions to earn interest and dividends on my own money all year, so end up owing money every year. Everybody else should do the same (assuming they have the discipline to earn a solid return and keep it liquid come april 15).
