Worth every penny to our society, What would we do without them? Imagine, say, if Cohen is arrested and SAC is shut down. Disaster!

One day after having cleaned out my cash to pay my income tax and seeing the balance of my account. One day after having had a conversation with my tax adviser informing me that an extra levy will go over my investment income “because I make sufficient money by itself”, and “Oh, by the way”, my personal income tax will go up as well and I can forget about deductions.

One day after, I see the income by the quoted “present-day heroes of our financial Armageddon” and I think about the administration’s proposal to have them pay the same rate of income tax as I am paying, abolishing all of this “hocus-pocus reduce your taxes scheme of carried interest”, and I think “perhaps this IS going to turn into a more just society!” (And then I pinch myself and wake up to reality and think “suckerrrrrr, you’re once again being taken to the cleaners!”)
