One Response to “Is U.S. Economic Growth Over? Faltering Innovation Confronts the Six Headwinds”

  1. AtlasRocked says:

It’s foolish to imagine mankind will always have a new computer/wireless/internet/steam engine/mass production/etc, innovation that will spur growth.

The last few rounds of inventions are actually reducing the demand for workers, leaving scads of humans as worthless to their fellow man’s needs. Citizens who dont serve their fellow citizens, citizens living on benefits, start making trouble, history shows getting gov’t benefits leads them into doing malevolent acts for corrupt politicians. History is clear on this trend, Polybius writes, “the people have become accustomed to feed at the expense of others, and their prospects of winning a livelihood depend upon the property of their neighbors; then as soon as they find a leader who is sufficiently ambitious and daring . . . they will introduce a regime based on violence.” All benefits states form a violent group of “enforcers”, this is normal throughout history and should be factored into our plans, not maligned and ridiculed.

Demanding politicians borrow money in ginormous amounts creates the illusion growth, not intrinsic growth. We must reconcile with the reality that intrinsic growth may never return, if you realize that computers and the internet are REDUCING available work, not creating jobs or work. jobs are dissappearing. and folks living on sustenance benefits are not going to drive a economic boom, they are going to start doing the corrupt politicians’ bidding. we already have massive corruption, witness the lack of prosecution of the FCIC report. Now Obama can use the threat of prosecuting banks to coerce them to cooperate the Dumb and Dumber regulations. Corrupt Police Chief is now running corrupt banks, selling fraudulent debt and printing money to hide the failure of policy.

Somebody needs to get honest about why we’ve been expanding credit for 40 years and create policy that plans on jobs dissappearing. Only one form of gov’t in all history has shown consistent, peaceful, efficient adaptation to change. We need to adopt that form of gov’t.
