“Science” as a direct result of human attribution. What will they think of next? Oh that’s right the Dominicans in 1233 did the same thing. La Dolce Vita.

Very cool. If you haven’t read The Particle at the End of the Universe by Sean Carrol I highly recommend it. It details the hunt of the Higgs Bosom which is filled with fascinating tid bits.

‘Does this field exist…. or did we invent it to make our equations work?”

Sounds much more like a conversation with a PhD macro-economist on the Fed’s payroll, not with an experimental physicist.

  4. Slash says:

I always thought the reason I didn’t understand other Higgs Boson explanations was because I’m a little too dumb to understand particle physics. Turns out, those explanations just sucked. I should have known.

I’m kinda smart. If someone can explain something to me competently, there isn’t all that much I can’t get.

The Higgs field wouldn’t by any chance be antisymmetric would it?
