Interesting column by Weidner on Camp’s bank tax proposal:

I agree with the concept that the TBTF banks are profiting from a massive subsidy due to the implicit and explicit government gurantees. Banks pay FDIC taxes for that insurance but TBTF goes far beyond FDIC coverage.

It appears that the only safety net the 0.1% believe in is their own.

He”ll be Doug-Kassed, but out of Fox News..

”..Back then, Mr. Brock was a self-described conservative hit man intent on taking down the Clintons. He famously went to Arkansas in 1993 and wrote an article for a conservative magazine asserting that state troopers had facilitated sexual liaisons for Bill Clinton, then the governor, which led to Paula Jones’s 1994 sexual harassment lawsuit against Mr. Clinton and Mr. Brock’s elevation in Republican power circles…”

”…he has abandoned his right-wing roots and sought to expose what he views as the conservative machinery he was once a part of, they have encouraged his efforts…”

The rights of Holistic healers are being trampled upon!

”…much of the information on Wikipedia relating to holistic approaches to healing is “biased, misleading, out of date, or just plain wrong”. It has attracted almost 8,000 supporters at the time of publication…”

That is 8,000 people who should be heard. Their rights of trampled when they cannot have their views on healing available!

Stop the “Science” people from hurting us! We don’t need their so-called science.

    What’s in your portfolio?

Sure, a high percentage of the millions killed annually by air pollution (according to the W.H.O.) are extremely poor using dirty indoor stoves. But you’re not invested in them.

Are you in in the rest?

  9. WickedGreen says:

    I know!

I’ll go long offshore drillers, and hedge with call options on for-profit marine mammal theme parks!

How are you planning on personally benefitting from the accelerating collapse of natural systems?

A link to a good summary of the Snohomish Valley landslide in Washington State. This valley has a long history of landslides. The landslides can be caused by either rainfall or earthquakes (they get both). The large loss of life is largely a result of increasing development of hazardous areas. People often don’t realize that Shift Happens even though it has previously been extensively mapped as a hazardous area.
