It shouldn’t be any surprise that a black hole has outgrown its own galaxy. It is just following the same processes as JP Morgan and Exxon.

I watched a most excellent PBS special on uranium Tuesday evening. This was a great science show and I am looking forward to part two, which is scheduled for Wednesday evening on PBS at 10:00pm (in my area at least).

If you missed part one, you can find it here:

Born from the collapse of a star, uranium has brought hope, progress and destruction. It has revolutionized society, from medicine to warfare. It is an element that has profoundly shaped the past, will change the future and will exist long after humans have left the Earth.

Bloomberg on Bloomberg was that instead of a minimum wage we need an increased Earned Income Tax Credit.

I guess that puts him at odds with Paul Ryan the “thoughtful” “intellectual” “numbers guy” of the GOP and the rest of the Republicans that we must expand the base.

expanding the base only applies to voters. doesnt apply to workers

As anger at US hunter grows, aides to illegal Cecil lion hunt go to court
Zimbabwean police say they are looking for dentist James Palmer, who reportedly paid $50K to track and kill the animal

    July 29, 2015 11:17AM ET

Two Zimbabweans arrested for illegally hunting a protected lion named Cecil were in court on Wednesday as anger escalated over the kill by Walter James Palmer, an American dentist.

“If, as has been reported, this dentist and his guides lured Cecil out of the park with food so as to shoot him on private property … he needs to be extradited, charged and, preferably, hanged,” People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals said in a statement Wednesday. The statement, emailed to The Associated Press, came from Ingrid Newkirk, the president of the animal rights organization.

Social media on the Internet — for example, on Twitter under #CecilTheLion — were also filled with condemnation of the killing of the black-maned Cecil just outside Hwange National Park in Zimbabwe.

Is the resistance to the deal with Iran more about a desire to have war with them than preventing that they get a nuclear weapon

    http://www.vox.com/2015/7/28/9051051/iran-hawks-case-deal

After all bombing or having war with them will only delay the nuclear weapon by 2 years whereas the deal will delay it by at least 10 years. But I guess you cannot say “we are against the deal because we want another trillion dollar war in the middle east”, so they come up with arguments so inconsistent that even a 5’th grader would go “say what???”

    • willid3 commented on Jul 29

no, its just another no. it wouldnt matter if Iran surrendered, left the planet . if O is for it, the GOP has to be against it.

    • ilsm commented on Jul 30

      DeDude,

It is not that the opposition to the Iran deal love war, to effectively stop Iran would require nukes and millions of casualties. I do not believe they want that kind of war. After all the 16 GOPster war mongers tilting for a nomination would ‘only’ send a brigade and a half to end ISIS.

The opposition is opposed to the deal ending the slow burning, expensive, profitable kind of perpetual conflict with Iran. That is why Eli Lyon implied the supporters of the ban did not hate (love them?) terrorist enough to bankrupt the US to slowly starve Iranians.

If the US opts out of the deal it will be the only large nation to do so, there are several vetoes to stop the US from re-imposing the bloody sanctions.
